Maritime ports asked to keep hoisted signal 3

The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisting local cautionary signal number 3, reports UNB.  

Steep pressure gradient persists over the North Bay under the influence of a low over the north Odisha-Gangetic West Bengal and adjoining area, the Met Office said.  

Squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining areas of Bangladesh, it said in a warning message issued on Friday afternoon.

Fishing boats and trawlers over the North Bay have been asked to stay close to the coast until further notice.
