Loko Natydal stages Amra Tinjon at Nat’l Theatre Hall today

Popular theatre troupe of the country Loko Natydal (Siddheshwari), will stage its new play titled ‘Amra Tinjon’ at the National Theatre Hall of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) today at 06:30pm.

Loko Natydal is bringing the drama on stage as part of their 37th founding anniversary   celebration programme. The drama will be staged followed by ‘Loko Natydal gold madel-2019’ handover ceremony.

The story of the drama is based on a play written by noted poet-writer Buddhadeb Basu with the same name. The play ‘Amra Tinjon’ is planned and directed by Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Director General Liaquat Ali Lucky.

The play tells the story of three intimate friends who fall in love with the same girl called Antara.

In the year 1927, they used to live in Purana Paltan. They were three inseparable friends who used to hang out together all the time. Reminiscing the old times at the present day, Bikash narrates their mutual love interest Antara, a girl had lived in their colony. However, fascinated by the charm of her beauty, the trio gives her a name after Mona Lisa.

One day, Mona Lisa is diagnosed with typhoid and her parents seek help from the trio—Bikash, Asit and Hitangshu. Three friends now start staying at the house of Mona Lisa to take care of her. The story moves forward from this point and ends with a tragic incident.

The probable cast of the play includes Liaquat Ali Lucky, Masud Sumon, Fazlul Haque, Azizur Rahman Sujon, Ananya Nishi, Swadesh Ranjan Das Gupta, Sonai Akter, Zia Udiin Shipon and Shishir Kumar Roy, among others.
