Bashundhara Kings outplayed Saif Sporting Club by 3-2 goals in their Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) encounter at Sheikh Kamal Stadium in Nilphamari on Thursday.

Bashundhara foreign recruits Marcos Vinicius, Daniel Colindres and Bakhtiyar Duyshobekov scored for the men in red to earn them full points in the match.

But contrary to the final results, Saif took the early initiative with a goal from their overseas recruit Denier Cordoba as he netted the ball from a corner kick on the 3rd minute of the match.

But Bashundhara Kings came back to the match in sensational style as their Brazilian magician Marcos Vinicius restored the parity flick in to the top-right corner of Saif’s bar on the 31st minute.

Bashundhara Kings doubled their lead on the 43rd minute as their World Cupper Daniel Colindres used a goal-line melee to head the ball past Saif goalie. With a brilliant assist from Marcos, Colindres made sure to head the ball into net as Saif goalie lay grounded while attempting to clear the ball.

In the second minute of the added time of first-half, Bashundhara Kings ace forward Bakhtiyar Duyshobekov slammed the ball into the net from a cross of fellow forward Motin Mia advancing their lead to 3-1.

Saif came back in the second-half with a goal only to decrease the gap of defeat as their midfielder Riyadul Hossain headed a long hauler into Bashundhara’s nets on the 56th minute of the match.

Bashundhara Kings prized recruit Daniel Colindres was also in his zone during the second half of the match as he nearly scored in the 67th minute of the match with left footed blinder which whiskered over Saif crossbar.

Despite repeated efforts from both the sides the scoreline remained the same for the rest of the match handing the encounter to Bashundhara Kings.

Meanwhile in the other match of the day, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra thrashed Rahmatganj Muslim Friends Society by 2-0 goals at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital.

Sheikh Russel trusty forwards Sohel Rana and Raphael Odovin scored for their side to position themselves in spot to take the second position holder Dhaka Abahani Ltd.

Saiful Bari Titu’s disciples went on with their usual tactic of going on offence early in the match and had early results as Sheikh Russel forward Shohel Rana scored a stunner to give them the lead on the 3rd minute of the match. Rana thrust the ball into the nets from a corner kick to earn the all-important early lead.

Sheikh Russel doubled their lead on the 17th minute of the match courtesy of a brilliant right-footed slap of Rapahel Odovin as he scored his only goal of the match from a through pass from Azizov Alisher after finding a 1:1 with the goalie.

Sheikh Russel continued with their attacks as their Brazilian forward Alex Rafael came hurling through the right wing to fire a bulleting shot at the near post on the 22nd minute but Rahmatganj goalie barely fisted away the trouble.

But the match sprung into life on the 33rd minute with a piercing shot from Russel defender which was deflected from the post. Sheikh Russel forward Alex Rafael led their counter-attack which was also defended with equal prowess by Rahmatganj goalie.
