Earlier on Sunday, Bashundhara Kings absolutely destroyed Mohammedan Sporting Club by 4-1 goals in their Bangladesh Premier League encounter at Bangabandhu National Stadium in the capital on Sunday.

Marcos Vinicius, Motin Mia and Bahtiyar Duyshobekov scored for the men in red as Bashundhara Kings maintained their supremacy with full 3 points from the match.

Bashundhara Kings started their carnage early in the match as they broke through the traditional football powerhouse’s defence early in the match as the table-toppers took the lead on the 19th minute of the match courtesy of a sensational right-footed finish of Kings’ Brazilian magician Marcos.

Vinicius came sprinting down the right-wing while his combat partner mid-fielder Md Ibrahim bulleted through the left-wing with the ball in his control and right at the edge of the D-box cross passed it to Vinicius who confounded the dumbfounded Mohammedan goalie to break the deadlock.

Minutes later, Mohammedan equalised the score-line utilising a rookie mistake from Bashundhara Kings goalie Anisur Rahman Zico. Bashundhara King took it easy and were passing the ball among the defenders as defender Nasir Chowdhury sent the ball back to goalie and Zico consequently attempted a shot which completely failed and found the feet of a prying Mohammedan forward Landing Darboe.

But the way Bashundhara reclaimed their lead surely made up for their earlier mistake as their local gem Motin Mia scored a stunner on the 37th minute of the match.

The brilliance started with a corner kick taken by Bashundhara Kings midfielder Ibrahim as he propelled a long shot and Kings’ forwards scrambling to head the ball into Mohammedan’s nets, Motin Miah  skillfully guided the ball into the net with the back of his right feet.

On the 44th minute of the match, Vincius completed his brace as he paddled a swinging free-kick from Bakhtyiar Duyshobekov advancing the scoreline to 3-1 goals for Bashundahra Kings.

Bashundhara Kings Uzbek forward Bakhiyar held on to stunning form in his maiden stint at the premier football league of Bangladesh as he scored yet another stunning goal for Bashundhara Kings on the 83rd minute of the match.
