State-owned enterprise Eastern Refinery Limited (ERL) made a net profit of around Tk 16.75 crore in 2017-2018 fiscal year (FY).
They refined 1241,730 metric tonnes of crude oil and made the profit after depositing around Tk 13.12 crore to the national exchequer in the fiscal year.This was disclosed at the 42nd Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the ERL held at the company’s registered office in the city’s Patenga area recently.
The AGM presided over by ERL governing body Chairman and Prime Minister’s Office Chief Coordinator (SDG) Md Abul Kalam Azad approved the audited accounts of the 2017-2018 FY after discussion.
The stakeholders lauded the overall activities of the company and thanked management, staff and employees of ERL for keeping the trend of making profit continued.
The board Chairman Abul Kalam Azad sought cooperation from all for accelerating activities of the company further.
Bangladesh Petroleum Corporation (BPC) Chairman Md Shamsur Rahman, Finance Division Additional Secretary Md Nazrul Islam, Bangladesh Petroleum Institute Director General Md Wasim Jabbar, BPC Director (Marketing) Md Sarwar Alam, Director (Operations and Planning) Syed Mehdi Hasan, Director (Finance) Md Altaf Hussain Chaudhury, Secretary Kazi Mohammad Hasan and ERL Managing Director Md Aktarul Islam were present at the meeting among others.
