Activities of ‘Imperial Hospital’ to start before Ramadan

CHATTOGRAM: Activities of the state-of-the-art privately-developed ‘Imperial Hospital Limited (IHL)’ will be launched before the holy month of Ramadan in the port city.

The hospital Board of Trustees Chairman Professor Dr Rabiul Hossain came up with the announcement while talking to journalists at the hospital on Monday. He said one of the main objectives of developing the hospital is to ensure world-class treatment along with reducing dependency on foreign countries for healthcare services which cost huge money.

Referring to tendency of going abroad for treatment, he claimed that the hospital will be able to provide full-fledged treatment to the local patients.

Initially, treatment at some departments including pediatric, oncology, radiology, cardiology and orthopedics will be started, he said. The hospital is featured with blood bank, pharmacy, imaging, dialysis, full range of diagnostic and therapeutic services along with the emergency department, said Dr Rabiul.

To facilitate the services laundry, kitchen, central air-conditioning system, 22 elevators, fire fighting equipments, medical gas system, captive power system, waste management, bank, prayer room, gift and utility shops, central cafeteria and provision for helipad services will be there, he said.

Some 10 percent beds of the hospital will be kept reserved for providing treatment to distressed patients, Chairman Rabiul said.

He informed that trained local nurses along with the foreign ones will provide the patients with standard healthcare services.

All types of information of the patients will be preserved on online so that they can get hassle-free services whenever they pay visit to the hospital, the chairman said.

He also informed that they have a plan to set up a cancer centre where all types of cancers will be treated.

Chairman Rabiul also showed the facilities and equipments gathered for treatment at the hospital.

The hospital Managing Director Amjadul Ferdous Chowdhury, Directors MA Malek and Salim Ahmed, and Commissioning Consultant Dr EDL Hansen accompanied the chairman among others at that time.
