One held with contraband Indian goods at Benapole

BENAPOLE: Members of Rapid Action Battalion arrested a suspected smuggler along with huge quantity of Indian saris, three pieces sets and other cloths worth Tk 1.33 lakh from a truck at Kagajpukur village here on Sunday night, reports UNB.

The arrestee is Amin Hossain, son of Rabiul Islam, hailing from Nabinagar village in Jhikargachha upazila of the district.

On information, a team of Rab-6 conducted a drive in the village around 11 pm and seized the contraband goods from the Jashore-bound truck and arrested Amin, said Company commander of Rab-6 and also Additional Superintendent of Police Md. Surat Alam.

The seized goods were deposited to Benapole customs.

Later, a case was filed with Benapole Port Police Station.
