ERO distributes edn instruments among ethnic children at RU

Equal Rights Organisation (ERO), a voluntary organisation at Rajshahi University, distributed educational instruments among ethnic and marginalised community’s children for encouraging them in education.

The distribution function was held at a club of Notun Jagoron Puja Committee at Budhpara Horizoon Palli area adjacent to Rajshahi University on Saturday.

A total of 60 student children were given the educational instruments during the programme.

Raj Kiron Das, founder president of the organisation said that the ethnic minority and marginalised community’s people are being deprived from different advantages. Adequate awareness sense is not being promoted among them regarding necessity of education. For this, they are remaining still in backward situation, he pointed out.

The ethnic minority and marginalised community’s children will be benefited something getting those educational instruments and a positive sense in education will work among them, he also hoped.

Chaired by the organisation’s founder president Raj Kiron Das, assistant professor of RU Law department and also the organisation’s adviser Sadiqul Islam Sagor, RU ERO vice president Zilani Ansari, human rights secretary Kanuong Marma and Rajshahi district ERO general secretary and members were present, among others, on the occasion.
