BNP leaders meet foreign diplomats

A team of BNP leaders on Thursday afternoon held a meeting with the representatives of different foreign missions in Dhaka at the party’s chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office in the capital.

In the meeting, the BNP leaders discussed various issues including current political situation in the country, imprisonment of the party chief Khaleda Zia and her medical treatment, party sources said.

They also discussed about cases filed against the party leaders and activists across the country during the meeting.

Senior BNP leaders including secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Mirza Abbas, Nazrul Islam Khan, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, vice-chairmen Iqbal Hassan Mahmud Tuku and organizing secretary Shama Obaid were present in that time, sources also confirmed.

Later, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir briefed the foreign diplomats and handed over a written copy of their statements, the sources added.

When asked about the meeting, BNP leader Nazrul Islam Khan told to the daily sun, “Basically, we discussed the issue of ailing Khaleda Zia’s health condition.”
