Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Minister Mustafa Jabbar on Thursday directed Bangladesh Telecommunications Company Limited (BTCL) to automate its service system to turn into a pro-people and profitable organization.

“BTCL needs to change various service systems such as registration fee and demand note to make it as a people friendly and profitable company,” he said while visiting the BTCL headquarters and exchanging views with the officials, reports BSS.

Directing to take and implement effective work plans, Jabbar said the BTCL officials have to work with sincerity, honesty and service-oriented mentality to make it a sustainable company.

He ordered BTCL to take initiatives to change the demand note system so anyone could get connection without visiting the company’s office.

The minister said Bangladesh today attained a place among the five fastest growing global economies as per the ranking of World Bank and it has been possible due to the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. “To expedite the ongoing pace of development, Bangladesh would enter the 5G era within 2021 to 2023 with her (Sheikh Hasina) directives,” he added.

Jabbar also directed the BTCL officials to find out ways to make the fixed phone based internet service popular among the customers.
