Everton eased the pressure on Marco Silva and dented Chelsea’s top-four hopes with a morale-boosting 2-0 win at Goodison Park on Sunday, report agencies.

Richarlison punished Chelsea’s profligacy just after half-time and Gylfi Sigurdsson converted the rebound from his own saved penalty to secure only the Toffees’ second victory in nine Premier League games at home. Defeat for Chelsea leaves them three points adrift of fourth-placed Arsenal with eight games remaining.

Elsewhere, James Milner’s penalty sent Liverpool back to the top of the Premier League table with a 2-1 victory over Fulham after Ryan Babel’s equaliser had appeared to put a serious dint in the visitors’ title challenge.

With Manchester City not in action this weekend, Liverpool knew a victory would see them return to the summit, and Sadio Mane kept up his impressive recent scoring record.
