Man ‘strangled’ in Jashore

BENAPOLE: A man was “strangled to death” allegedly by his father in law’s family at Dakatia village in Sadar Upazila of Jashore district on Tuesday early.

The deceased was identified as Rustam Ali, 30, son of Amjad Hossain of Kashimpur Biswaspara village of the Sadar upazila.

The deceased’s uncle Amir Hossain said that 9 months ago, Rustam Ali was married to the daughter of Shahidul Islam of Dakatia village of the same union. On Sunday, there was an altercation between Rustam and his wife Pervin Akter.

On afternoon his wife went to her father’s house. Rostam Ali went to his father-in-law to bring his wife back. But the wife did not want to come with him. The family members of the father-in-law strangled to dead him and send to the emergency department of Jashore General Hospital on 3:30 am.

An emergency department doctor, Shafiullah Sabuj said that he had died before he came to the hospital. The deceased was sent to the morgue for unknown reasons.

SI Hayat Mahmud of Jashore Kotwali police station said that there was no injury marks on the dead body. There is a mystery in death.

After getting the autopsy report, it is possible to get the exact cause of death.
