Most of the companies and exhibitors participating at the Dhaka International Trade Fair are offering huge discounts and gifts to promote brands and boost sales as the month-long fair is going to end on Saturday.
Pavilions and stalls of furniture, kitchenware, electronic gadgets, plastics, toys and clothing brands are now busy to allure customers by offering various discounts and gifts at the last moment of the fair.Renowned furniture brands are offering huge discounts and gifts for the customers who order their products from the fair premises.
Akhtar Furniture is offering 10-35 percent discounts on house fittings and office furniture like bed, sofa, dining table, ware drove, chair and other products. Other brands like Navana Furniture also offers 10-17 percent discount for the customers while another top furniture brand Partex is offering up to 20 percent discount.
Navana Furniture pavilion in-charge Firoz Zaman said that they have brought hundred types of furniture products in the fair and getting good response from the crowds.
Although it was sluggish during the first half of the fair, it is now getting momentum at the end week of month-long fair, he added.
Electronic brands are using various types of offers as part of efforts to sensitise consumers and visitors into purchasing their latest and sophisticated electronic product.
Samsung is offering gifts for free and cash back with purchases from its pavilion. The gifts include rice cookers, washing machines, microwave ovens, vacuum cleaners and select models of TVs while Samsung Mobile is offering up to 55 percent discount on specific model.Besides, LG is offering 10 percent to 100 percent discount through scratch cards while Walton, Marcel, Konka, Minister, Jamuna and Sharp are offering discounts and prizes as well as EMI facilities on the occasion of the DITF.
At the ending days of fair, local and foreign clothing brands and shops are now offering maximum discounts like ‘buy one get one free’ offer. Fashion brand Dress Line has reduced 50 percent price on their every product while other brands are also offering up to 30-50 percent discounts. Foreign clothing brands are also giving huge discounts on their products.
Md Raihan, sales executive of Bithi Jamdani, said that they are selling local saris like Jamdani, Katan at discounted rate from the regular price. Visiting the fair ground, it was seen that exhibitors especially toys, plastics, kitchenware are selling their products.
The Ministry of Commerce and Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) are jointly organising the 24th editions of the fair that began on January 9 and scheduled to end on Friday next. However, the government is likely to extend the duration for one more day considering weekend.
Exhibitors from around 22 countries including India, Pakistan, Thailand, Nepal, the UK, the US, Singapore, and many others are participating in the event.
