‘Health sector saw 90pc ADP execution last FY’

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim on Tuesday claimed that 90 percent of Annual Development Programme (ADP) in the health sector was implemented successfully in last fiscal year.  He directed officials and employees of all level of the health ministry to achieve 100 percent success during the current fiscal year.

The minister came up with the statements at a meeting to review the progress of ADP at Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) conference center in Mohakhali of the capital. Nasim presided over the meeting.

The minister said the government has been working ceaselessly for the last ten years to ensure modern and world-class health care for people.

He said a number of world-class specialized hospitals have been constructed all over country in the last few years while ICU (Intensive Care Unit) is now available in district-level hospitals.

On the instruction of the premier, Sheikh Hasina National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery has been set up in the capital which will be inaugurated by the PM on October 20, he added.

The health minister said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will also inaugurate the extension project of National Institute of Traumatology & Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) in the capital on October 18 and third plant of Essential Drugs Co. Ltd will be opened in Gopalganj on October 6.
