Law Minister Anisul Huq on Monday said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will announce the polls-time government at an appropriate time.

He said, “Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina knows what the size of the election-time government will be, as the premier is responsible for forming the polls-time government according to the constitution.”

Anisul Huq came up with the remarks while talking to reporters after attending a meeting as the chief guest at Dhaka District Registrar’s Office in Tejgaon in the capital.

He also said that the current parliament will complete its tenure as it will not be dissolved.

Law minister informed that a proposal for the amendment to the Representation of the People Order (RPO) has reached the Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs division of the Law Ministry from the Election Commission for its vetting.

The relevant file regarding the RPO amendment will be sent to his office after the legislative and parliamentary affairs division examines it, he said.

Anisul said the present government has carried out huge development in the country as there is democracy.

The country’s people will not respond to the urges from the persons who shout from their drawing rooms saying that there is no democracy and who leave the country after calling for movement, he added.

Inspector General of Registration Khan Md Abdul Mannan presided over the programme while Legislative and Parliamentary Affairs Secretary Mohammad Shahidul Haque and Dhaka District Registrar Dipak Kumar Sarker spoke at the programme, among others.
