CDA moves for beautification of ‘Aktaruzzaman Flyover’

CHITTAGONG: Chittagong Development Authority (CDA) has taken initiative for beautification of the ‘Aktaruzzaman Flyover’ and road dividers beneath it in the port city.  

The authority started the work from Dampara area and the entire flyover stretching from the city’s Muradpur to Lalkhan Bazar area will be brought under the initiative gradually.

The beatification will be carried out on the road dividers and on the pillars of the flyover.   

Of the works, there will be sitting arrangements for pedestrians and saplings of different flowers on the dividers.

Besides, all pillars of the flyover will be covered with green carpet to give a facelift.

Contacted, Project Director (PD) Mahfuzur Rahman of the flyover told the daily sun that they took the initiative as a part of increasing beautification of the flyover.

“The beautification work is now being carried out on experiment basis,” he said.  

Expenses of the initiative will be met from the project allocation, he said, adding that the city will get an attractive look after completion of the works.
