7 held while crossing border

BENAPOLE: Members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) arrested seven Bangladeshi nationals while they were attempting to cross into India illegally through Benapole check post bordering area on Wednesday night.
The arrestees were identified as Gita Sarkar, 45, wife of Durga Charan Sarkar of Narayanganj, and their grandson Raj Biswas, 5, Sima Biswas, daughter of Ratan Das of Dhaka, Sadhu Charan, 44, son of Mahanbashi Mallik of Gazipur, Ricap Sheikh, 25, son of Momrej Sheikh and his wife Sharifa Begum, 17, and Asha Khatun, 21, wife of Rasul Sheikh of Narail district.
Benapole check post ICP camp Habildar Mahbub Alam said on secret information, a team of the border force launched a drive in the area at night and arrested the seven, including four women and one child, who were trying to go to India without valid documents.
Later, BGB troops handed them over to Benapole Port Police Station.  
A case was filed in this connection.    — UNB
