Huge quantity of narcotics recovered, four held in Ctg

CHITTAGONG: The law enforcers in separate drives recovered two kilograms opium, 1,512 bottles foreign liquor, 2,030 cans beer and 3,000 Yaba tablets and arrested four drug peddlers from different areas of the city.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of the RAB raided connecting road of Shah Amanat Bridge on Tuesday evening, arrested two drug peddlers identified as Md Alam, 65 and Md Didar Hossain, 36, from the spot and recovered two kilograms of opium from their possessions.
Meanwhile, the members of Bangladesh Coast Guard challenged a boat at outer anchorage of Chittagong port at around 3:30am on Wednesday.
Sensing presence of the CG men, the smugglers fled leaving the boat near beach. Later, a total of 1,512 bottles foreign liquors and 2,030 cans beer were recovered searching the boat.
On the other hand, the officials of DNC arrested two drug peddlers identified as Md Rasel, 30 and Md Shawkatul Islam, 32, from Sadarghat area at around 5:00pm on Wednesday.
A total of 3,000 Yaba tablets were recovered from their possessions.
