My parents involved with JMB: Russell

Tahrim Kaderi alias Russell, a 14-year-old son of slain militant Tanvir Kaderi, told a court here on Thursday that his parents were involved with the JMB militant organisation.
Russell who was arrested by police during a raid on a JMB den at Azimpur in the capital gave the confessional statement to a magistrate court in a case.
Metropolitan Magistrate Md Ahsan Habib recorded the statement after Ahsanul Haque, investigator of the case, produced Russell before the court with a plea to record his statement.
The court recorded the statement under section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) in the case filed under the Anti-terrorism Act with Lalbagh police station.
Sub-inspector Delwar Hossain filed the case against Tanvir and Afrin, Abadetul Fatema, Shayela Afrin, Russell and five other accused. All the accused are JMB members.
After recording Russell’s statement, the court sent him to the National Juvenile Development Centre at Tongi.
On September 18, Dhaka Juvenile Court placed Russell on three days’ remand for interrogation. In the remand petition, police mentioned that Russell attacked the law enforcers with a knife during their house raid.
It is mentioned that Tanvir Kaderi killed himself during the police raid on September 10.
