To recognize and celebrate creative communications in marketing and business, some 93 advertising campaigns across 25 categories were honored at the 6th edition of COMMWARD.
COMMWARD: The excellence in creative communications was held at Le Méridien Dhaka on Saturday night. The winning campaigns were recognised in 3 ranks: Grand Prix, Gold and Silver.
COMMWARD, an initiative of Bangladesh Brand Forum, has been recognising and inspiring creative advertising in business and marketing, since 2009.
This year, a total of 467 nominations were received from 41 advertising agencies, production houses and creative departments of various organisations. Three vigorous jury sessions, comprising of leading marketers and communication experts of the country, were held to evaluate and select the winners.
While many small new agencies were recognised for their outstanding creative campaigns, the large established agencies overwhelmed the award ceremony with their strong advertising campaigns.
Among the campaigns, “Prothom Alo ICC Cricket World Cup 2015”and “Closeup Kache Ashar Shahoshi Golpo” campaigns won the highest number of awards in three ranks.
Moreover, the much-hyped “Close-up Kache Ashar Shahoshi Golpo” won two Grand Prix in the Best Use of Content and Video for Web categories. In the integrated campaign category, which is regarded as the ultimate comprehensive category, the campaign “GP – Prothom Bijoyollash” won Grand Prix which was conceived and executed by Grey Advertising Bangladesh Ltd.
COMMWARD is the largest initiative in Bangladesh for recognising and inspiring creative advertising in business and marketing, since 2009. The award ceremony was attended by around 500 professionals from the business organisations, marketing and creative agencies.
COMMWARD 2016 was preceded by the day-long Communication Summit where five global key-note speakers took part in-depth sessions on different topics related to creative communications.
Fredrik Haren, an author was the keynote speaker on Business Creativity, Innovation, Change and Global Business; while Nirvik Singh, Chairman and CEO of Grey Group Asia Pacific; Bharat Avalani, Ex-Director, Regional Integrated Brand Communications and Market Development - Homecare Asia, Africa, Middle East and Turkey Unilever; Fazal Ashfaq, Country Head of Google Sri Lanka and Bangladesh; and Kauhsik Roy, President, Brand Strategy and Marketing Communication, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) spoke at the Summit.
Fazal Ashfaq took his session through a live video conference. To inspire the essence of art and creativity in business, the four speakers, present at the venue were gifted with artworks of renowned visual artist and the Director of Bangladesh Brand Forum Ms. Preema Nazia Andaleeb.
The day-long summit also observed Cannes Showcasing and an intensive panel discussion. Members for the panel discussion were Mithun Roy, COO, Bitopi Advertising Ltd; Jaikishin Tikam, Head of Media, ITC; Anir Chowdhury, Policy Advisor, Prime Minister’s Office; Nazim Farhan Choudhury, Managing Director, ADCOMM Ltd; and Bharat Avalani.
