Stressing on the need for strengthening the bilateral relationship, new High Commissioner of Malaysia to Bangladesh Nur Ashikin Mohd Taib said that she will work for enhancing the bilateral ties further between Malaysia and Bangladesh in the coming days.
The newly-appointed High Commissioner of Malaysia in Bangladesh made the remarks at a reception programme organised by the Bangladesh-Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI) at a city hotel on Monday night.
Thanking the BMCCI for according her the reception, Nur Ashikin Mohd Taib said, “I am delighted having the opportunity to address the business community in this very auspicious occasion”.Earlier, BMCCI President Md. Alamgir Jalil welcomed the Malaysian envoy and expressed the desire to work together to achieve the common objectives to enhance trade and commerce between Bangladesh and Malaysia.
BMCCI President also mentioned that BMCCI will organise the 4th Showcase Bangladesh 2016 in Kuala Lumpur to promote Bangladeshi products and services in Malaysia, as well as to encourage greater trade between Malaysia and Bangladesh.
He said, the total trade between Bangladesh and Malaysia in 2015 reached an $1 billion and hoped that such initiatives could further boost two-way trade between the two countries.
Secretary General of BMCCI Shabbir Ahmed Khan delivered vote of thanks. BMCCI Directors and Members were present.
