The government is committed towards building a digital Bangladesh by 2021 and for this the country witnessed robust growth. Due to visionary directions and proper planning, the country’s GDP and earnings per capita have witnessed a robust boost in the fiscal year 2015-16.
State Minister for ICT Division Zunaid Ahmed Palak said this while launching Membership Launch Dinner of Bikroy.com as chief guest in the capital on Tuesday. The state minister also launched the new Membership service site for businesses, said a press release. “A huge circle of mid-level consumers have been created in the country, and it is only possible to satisfy their demand through e-commerce. Bikroy.com has been fulfilling the demand of these customers by providing a strong online platform to buy and sell goods and services, and other institutions should also come forward to build our long-cherished Digital Bangladesh,” Palak said.
High officials from BASIS, BACCO, a2i, eCAB, DOVBCOL, BARVIDA and REHAB, among others also attended the event.
Bikroy.com’s newly launched service will provide an online shop at www.bikroy.com/FordBangladesh for businesses to reach a much larger audience to sell their products, with minimal additional cost.
This service will help businesses in different sectors make the jump to online, whether they are mobile phone stores, furniture stores, property developers, or car and motorcycle showrooms. Companies searching job seekers will be able to avail Bikroy.com’s membership service. “Bikroy.com has introduced an exciting Membership facility for our business users countrywide, from Dhaka to Sylhet to Khulna to Chittagong. This Membership feature gives business users greater control over their ads, enabling them to post more ads than the free limit, and thereby reach more customers, generating additional sales in the process,” said Misha Ali, Director, Marketing at Bikroy.com. “Since our soft launch in December, we have had more than 1,500 businesses signed up for this service nationwide ranging from The City Bank in Dhaka to Bismillah Cars in Chittagong and Guljan City in Khulna. We believe that this will help take Bangladesh’s businesses to a new level, and enable them to join the digital revolution that is taking the country by storm. Businesses will be able to sell their product without the additional costs of setting up a brick and mortar store and be able to reach a wider audience with lower cost than traditional offline channels” said Misha Ali, Director, Marketing at Bikroy.com.
