BNP senior leader Nazrul Islam Khan on Tuesday urged the government to hold an inclusive national election under a neutral government without delay.
“BNP is carrying on with its movement to establish voting rights of the people. That’s why the party is demanding a fair election under a neutral government. It is a logical demand,” he said.
The BNP standing committee member made the remarks while speaking at a protest meeting organised by ‘MA Mannan Mukti Parishad’ at Dhaka Reporters’ Unity auditorium in the capital.
Claiming that no election will be fair under the current Awami League-led government, the BNP leader said this government will not be able to stay in power if they meet BNP’s demand for an inclusive election under neutral a government”.
Nazrul Islam Khan also asked the BNP leaders and activists to get united for strengthening the organisation by stopping internal vengeance and blame game.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi blamed the present government for destroying democracy, human rights and financial institutions of the country.
BNP leaders Khairul Kabir Khokon and Shamimur Rahman Shamim also spoke at the programme.
