Boro harvest goes on in Narail

NARAIL:  Harvesting of Boro paddy has been continuing in full swing in all three upazilas of the district during the current season.
Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) office sources said 42,134 hectares of land were brought under Boro cultivation in the district with the production target of 176,387 tonnes of rice this year.
Sources said farmers are now busy with harvesting Boro paddy in the areas of Sadar, Lohagora and Kalia upazilas. A festive mood has been prevailing there as they are getting better price of the paddy.
Deputy Director of DAE Shaikh Aminul Haque however said that they are expecting two lakh tonnes of boro rice after completion of harvesting of the paddy.     — BSS
