British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company Limited declared 55 percent dividend for its shareholders for the year ended on 31st December, 2015.
The announcement came at the 43rd Annual General Meeting of the company held at a hotel in the capital recently, said a press release.
Golam Mainuddin, Chairman, British American Tobacco Bangladesh, chaired the AGM.
A large number of shareholders attended the meeting and unanimously approved the accounts for the year ended 31 December 2015, Directors’ Report and the Auditor’s Report.
The shareholders also approved the proposed dividend of Tk 55 per share.
In 2015, the company contributed Tk 11,051 crore as value added tax, supplementary duty and other taxes to the national exchequer.
This contribution makes BAT Bangladesh as the highest tax payer in the country.
