Today marks the National Film Day, a happy occasion for the country’s entire film fraternity. To mark the day in a befitting manner, the Ministry of Information and BFDC have jointly chalked out elaborate programmes.
Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy has also undertaken a set of programmes to observe the day with due grandeur.
The academy, in association with Bangladesh Film Archive, will showcase posters of films and portraits of filmmakers at the National Music and Dance Centre Lobby this afternoon.
With Director General of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy Liaquat Ali Lucky in the chair, Nayok Raj Razzak will attend a discussion at National Music and Dance Centre Auditorium of BSA this evening.
Filmmakers Syed Salahuddin Zaki, Manjare Hasin Murad, and Morshedul Islam, Anupam Hayat, Sabrina Sultana Chowdhury, Dr Jahangir Hossain will speak at the event.
Sara Ara Mahmud, director of Theatre and Movie department of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy, will deliver welcome speech on the occasion.
The academy will also launch a week-long film screening event at International Cultural Archive of BSA on Monday.
Besides, different satellite television channels and radio stations will air special programmes to celebrate the day.
