RANGPUR: Agriculture Secretary Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah has directed the field-level officials concerned to further increase food output through making the ongoing agricultural activities successful.
He made the directions while visiting different institutions, ongoing programmes and filed level activities under the Ministry of Agriculture in various areas under Rangpur agriculture region during his two-day field level visits on Thursday and Friday, reports BSS.
During his tour, the Agriculture Secretary visited the Tomato Processing Centre of the Department of Agricultural Marketing, Seed Processing Centre of Bangladesh Agriculture Development Corporation (BADC), research activities of BT Brinjal, BARI Sweet Pepper and Maize of the On-farm Research Division of Bangladesh Agriculture Research Institute (BARI) in Rangpur.
He also visited Agriculture Information and Advice Centre, production of Vermi-composts, Liquid Organic Fertiliser and other activities under the Integrated Agriculture Productivity Project (IAPP) at Mithapukur, ‘Sajina’ plantation and harvesting wheat with reaper at Taraganj and Fatema Mushroom Center at Syedpur in Nilphamari.
Among others, Additional Secretary (Administration & Inputs) to the Ministry of Agriculture Md Nasiruzzaman, Director General (DG) of Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) Md Hamidur Rahman and its Acting Rangpur Regional Additional Director SM Ashraf Ali accompanied the Agriculture Secretary during his visit.
