Youth held with 5 gold bars in city

Police arrested a young man along with five gold bars at Kamalapur Railway Station in the city on Monday morning, reports UNB. Officer-in-charge of Kamalapur Government Railway Police Station Abdul Majid said tipped off, a team of police challenged Palash, 22, son of Dipak, a resident of Kachua in Chandpur district when he got down from the ‘Turna Nishitha Express’ coming from Chittagong at about 6:45 am. Later, the law enforcers recovered five pieces of gold bars after searching his body and arrested him. The market value of the seized gold bars is estimated Tk20 lakh, the OC added.
