Youth stabbed for protesting stalking in Joypurhat

JOYPURHAT:  A college student was stabbed by an alleged eve-teaser for protesting the teasing of his female classmate in Mitna village of Sadar upazila on Sunday.
The injured was identified as Al-Amin, a 1st year student of Joypurhat Government College and son of Siraj Uddin, a resident of Katahar village in Kalai upazila.
Quoting locals, Officer-in-Charge of Joypurhat Sadar Police Station, Farid Hossain, said Maruf along with some other friends used to tease Al-Amin’s classmate on her way to college.  On Sunday noon, Al-Amin protested while Maruf was teasing her.  At one stage, Maruf stabbed Al-Amin with a knife, leaving him critically injured.  He was admitted at Joypurhat District Modern Hospital.     — UNB
