Bangladesh Pratidin, the trend-setting highest circulated Bengali daily of the country, cut cakes as the popular newspaper started its 10th birthday bash late Thursday, pledging to overcome challenges with the commitment of its team.
The broadsheet started its journey on March 15, 2010 as a venture of the East West Media Group Limited (EWMGL) which is owned by the country’s leading business conglomerate Bashundhara Group.Bashundhara Group Vice-Chairman Safwan Sobhan Tasvir inaugurated the celebration of the anniversary by cutting a cake at the newspaper’s head office on the EWMGL premises in Bashundhara Residential Area of the capital.
Speaking on the occasion, Safwan Sobhan said, “We’re happy with Bangladesh Pratidin’s journey as it completes its 10th year. It’s the highest circulated daily in the country. I wish to see further improvement of the newspaper.”
In his speech, Bangladesh Protidin’s editor Naem Nizam said the print media has been exposed to vulnerable situation in the current era of technology.
“It’s a great challenge for us to continue success of the newspaper. But, we can overcome this challenge by collective effort and teamwork.”
The Bengali publication set a new trend in the country’s field of journalism and with pragmatic plans including its 15-page broadsheet for Taka five only made it the largest circulated daily of Bangladesh.
