“Amar Ekushey and International Mother Language Day-2019” was observed in different districts across the country on Thursday with due respect and in befitting manner, paying rich tributes to the martyrs of the historic Language Movement of 1952.
In Gaibandha: The ‘Shaheed Dibash and International Mother Language Day-2019’ was observed in the district on Thursday with due respect to the language movement martyrs, reports BSS.The day long observance began at one minute past midnight through placing wreaths by whip of Bangladesh Jatiya Sangshad and local lawmaker Mahabub Ara Begum Gini at Central Shahid Minar of Gaibandha Poura Park of the town.
Deputy Commissioner (DC) Abdu Matin and police super Engineer Abdul Mannan Miah were present at that time.
Then, district administration, district police, Bangladesh Awami League, Zila Muktijoddha Sangshad, political parties, socio-cultural and professional organisations, private bodies and institutions placed floral wreaths at the Shahid Minar in phases.
In Rajshahi: “Amar Ekushey and International Mother Language Day-2019” was observed in the city as elsewhere in all other districts under Rajshahi division yesterday with due respect and in befitting manner, paying rich tributes to the martyrs of the historic Language Movement of 1952.
In Rangpur: The Shaheed Dibash (Martyrs’ Day) and International Mother Language Day-2019 was observed here on Thursday paying rich tributes to the language movement martyrs with a fresh call for using Bengali at all spheres.
The divisional, district and police administration, Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC), political parties, private bodies, socio-cultural, professional and other organisations, educational institutions and NGOs observed the day through elaborate programmes.In Jamalpur: The Amar Ekushey and International Mother Language Day was observed in the district in a befitting manner on Thursday.
The observance began at the zero hours through placing wreaths by Lawmaker Engineer Mojaffar Hossain at Central Shaheed Minar in the town.
It was followed by police administration, zila parishad, Jamalpur municipality, freedom fighters, upazila parishad, district bar association, political parties, educational institutes, Jamalpur press club and social and cultural organisations.
Besides, district administration, political parties and various cultural and social organisations also took out separate programmes to observe the day.
