Bashundhara Group Vice-Chairman Safwan Sobhan Tasvir and Abdul Monem Limited Deputy Managing Director ASM Mainuddin Monem exchange documents after signing an agreement at Abdul Monem office at Karwan Bazar in the capital on Monday.

Bashundhara Multi Trading Ltd, a concern of country’s largest industrial and business conglomerate, signed an agreement with Abdul Monem Group for supplying high-quality stone.

As per the deal, Abdul Monem Group will use the stone supplied by Bashundhara Multi Trading in its various development projects.

Bashundhara Group Vice-chairman Safwan Sobhan Tasvir and Abdul Monem Ltd Deputy Managing Director ASM Mainuddin Monem signed the agreement on behalf of their respective sides on Monday.

The signing ceremony was held at the office of Abdul Monem at Karwan Bazar in the city.

After signing the deal, Bashundhara Group Vice-chairman Safwan Sobhan Tasvir said: “Construction companies may rely on the stone supplied by Bashundhara Multi Trading Ltd as it maintains high quality.”

 “The deal, we signed today, would be another milestone. Already, we signed another agreement on cement. And we are very happy with this new deal. We will continue work with our resources for the country’s infrastructure development,” he said.

Abdul Monem Ltd Deputy Managing Director ASM Mainuddin Monem said: “Bashundhara Group has kept its footprint in every sector in the country. Today we start another journey with the group through signing the deal for supplying high-quality stone. It will go far.”

“Bashundhara is a giant group in the country in terms of capacity in building and industrial materials,” he added.

Mainuddin Monem said once Bangladesh was dependent on foreign companies for any sort of development work, but today the scenario has changed.

“We are not lagging anyone behind. I think Bashundhara Group has fulfilled the gaps,” he said.

He expressed the hope that the partnership of Bashundhara and Abdul Monem will go far for future development work in the country.

Mainuddin Monem said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has vision to develop Bangladesh’s status to a middle-income country by 2021 and a developed nation by 2040.

 “I hope it (the agreement) will contribute to materialising the vision”.

From Abdul Monem Ltd, its Managing Director Abdul Monem, Directors Dr Farhana Monem, Abid Habib and AKM Akhtaruzzaman and procurement specialist (finance) Brig Gen Faruk Ahmed Chowdhury were present at the signing ceremony.

From Bashundhara Group, its Chief Financial Officer Mirza Mujahidul Islam (Sector-C), Chief Marketing Officer (Cement) Khandaker Kingshuk Hossain, Head of Marketing (Sector-C) Md Toufiq Hasan, Engineer Md Mahmudul Hasan and AGM (Sales) AKM Rashed Uddin were present in the event.
