The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday conducted a sudden drive at Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) offices in the capital.
The ACC made the drive after it received allegations of corruption through hotline 106.During the drives at Palli Bidyut Zonal office at Nababganj and Palli Bidyut Zonal office in Keraniganj, the ACC enforcement team found that officials of BREB are not doing any work without negotiation through brokers.
In collusion with the officials, brokers are controlling all files of the offices, said an ACC press release.
Besides, the ACC officials caught two brokers red-handed and said four officials, including General Manager and DGM, have link with the brokers.
ACC director general (admin) M Munir Chowdhury said legal action will be taken against the officials who are involved in corruption while they will also run an inquiry into illegal wealth of corrupt officials.
