Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman Iqbal Mahmood on Monday said the corruption will have to prevent to ensure fair distribution of resources in the society.
Iqbal Mahmood came up with the remarks at a discussion held at the commission’s Segunbagicha headquarters in the capital, marking the Victory Day.He stressed the need for procedural changes in education, health and moral sides to stop corruption in the country.
“Let us make procedural changes in education, health and moral aspects aimed at stopping corruption for the sake of the young generation,” he said.
Showing respect to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and all the martyred, he also said, “It will be a serious disrespect to the martyred if we get ourselves involved in corruption.”
“It is a must to stop corruption to ensure continuation of the economic development,” he added.
ACC commissioners — Dr Mozammel Haque and AFM Aminul Islam, and Secretary Dr Shamsul Arefin also spoke at the meeting, among others.
