Akhtar Hossain, a third-year student of law department of Dhaka University, continued his hunger strike in front of Raju Sculpture on the campus for the second consecutive day on Wednesday to press home his three-point demand, including steps to re-conduct the admission tests of ‘Gha’ unit.

He insisted that he would not leave the place until his demands are met.

“I will end the strike after receiving an assurance that necessary steps would be taken in this regard,” Akhtar, who apparently looks ill, told this correspondent.

In the evening, quota reformists and a team of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) led by general secretary Golam Rabbani came to Raju Sculpture and expressed solidarity with Akhtar. BCL also demanded that the DU re-conduct the ‘Gha’ unit admission test.

Amid criticism over alleged question paper leak of the entrance exam of unit, the results were published on Tuesday.
