The two-day classical music soiree titled ‘Sunaad’ ended on Tuesday at the Chhayanaut auditorium in the capital’s Dhanmondi area.
Featuring vocal and instrumental recitals by the students of Bengal Parampara Sangeetalay, the soiree was begun on Monday evening.To promote classical music and provided a platform to the young music enthusiasts, Bengal Foundation was organised the two-day festival.
On the second and concluding day of the programme, artistes Prasenjit Mondol, Jyoti Banerjee, Jahangir Alam Sraban, Mohammad Kauser, Sohini Majumder, Sameen Yaser Iftee and Subrata Biswas presented sitar recital. They were accompanied by Prashanta Bhowmik and Supantha Mojumder accompanied on tabla.
At the event, Kaniz Husna Ahammady entertained the audience by performing khayal, while Avijit Kundu and Tinku Shil presented dhrupad.
The event came to an end with the group esraj recital by Sayeda Rayhan, Raihanul Amin, Ranjit Roy, Sukla Halder, Ismat Ara Ruchy, Shounak Debnath Wreek, Saumit Roy, Gourango Krishna Das and Esraj Tutor Mr Debashis Haldar.
It may be mentioned that, Bengal Foundation Chairman Abul Khair inaugurated the two-day festival on Monday.
The opening day of the soiree began with a group performance of Sarod by Isra Fuljhuri Khan, Ilham Fuljhuri Khan, Saddam Hossain and Arefin Rony. They were accompanied by Ratan Kumar Das and Supantha Mojumder on the tabla.Then, Mirajul Jannat Sonia performed Khayal, while Prashanta Bhowmik was on the tabla and Alamgir Parvez Sumon on harmonium.
