Army Chief General Aziz Ahmed will leave for India tomorrow to take part in the Multinational Military Field Training Exercise (MILEX-18) for the Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi Sectoral Technological and Economic Cooperation (BIMSTEC) nations.
A seminar titled ‘Possibility of Creating Viable Regional Security Architecture to Deal with Threats–Terrorism and Transnational Crime’ will be held on September 15, with the participation of Chiefs Conclave, consisting of army chiefs of all member states of BIMSTEC. Bangladesh Army chief will gave speech on the subject in context of Bangladesh.He will also be present at the closing ceremony of that exercise. Army chief is expected to return to Bangladesh on September 17.
As a part of the Bay of Bengal initiative for multi-sectoral technical and economic cooperation (BIMSTEC), a field training military exercise (MILEX-18) will be held at Aundh in Pune from September 10 to September 17.
In this seven-day exercise, participants from BIMSTEC countries including Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Thailand will take part.
