Leaders and activists of Bangladesh General Students Rights Protection Council on Wednesday staged a protest on Dhaka University campus demanding immediate publication of a gazette notification on quota reform system.
They said that they will continue demonstration until their demands are met. They also demanded withdrawal of ‘false’ cases against them and exemplary punishment of those who attacked them.A day after the government issued a circular for the 40th BCS examination, general students took to the street on the campus protesting the publication of the circular before the publication of gazette notification.
Bangladesh General Students Rights Protection Council joint convener Nurul Huq said, “Despite our legitimate demands, we had been attacked and framed in cases. We did not demand abolition of the quota system. We wanted a reform.”
