Speakers on Saturday said country’s youth groups are still unrecognised and vulnerable which is big obstacle for development. They emphasized the need for including all youths into development prospective.
They made the remark at a press briefing held at CIRDAP auditorium in the capital.The Citizen’s Platform for Bangladesh organised the press briefing as a preparatory meeting of youth conference 2018 which is scheduled to be held on September 18.
Convener of the platform Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya and members of the core group Dr Iftekharuzzaman and Shaheen Anam spoke at the press briefing.
Dr Debapriya Bhattacharya came up with announcement that youth conference 2018 styled ‘Youth Conference 2018: Bangladesh and Agenda 2030 – Aspirations of the Youth’ will be held at Krishibid Institute in the capital.
Logo and website of the conference was unveiled at the programme.
Around 1500 participants are expected to attend the ceremony of whom 40 percent is female and 15 from minorities and other smaller groups.
Procession, rally, diversified cultural ceremony, a debate competition on youth related topics and an e-library inauguration have been included in the agenda.“Youth Declaration Paper-2018’ will be announced at the end of the programme, says a press release.
