Cattle-loaded trawler capsizes in Buriganga

Narayanganj: A trawler carrying 31 cattle capsized in Buriganga River when it collided with a launch near Fatullah launch ghat in the upazila on Friday night, reports UNB.

Soon after the incident, police arrested launch master Faruk Hossain in this connection.

Shah Mohammad Monjur, officer-in-charge of Fatullah Model Police Station, said a Dhaka-bound trawler carrying cattle and cattle traders from Sirajganj capsized after it was hit by the launch MV Dhulia around 8:30pm.

Although fire fighter teams rescued five cows from the river, the remaining 26 cows and three cattle traders were still missing till Saturday evening, the officer added.
