Syria, Japan, Vietnam seal victories

Syria, Japan and Vietnam earned victories in their preliminary round football matches of the Asian Games 2018 on Tuesday, reports Asiangames2018.id.

Syria got a full three points after defeating the United Arab Emirates 1-0 in a Group C soccer match at Si Jalak Harupat Stadium.

Abd Al Rahman Barakat managed to bring Syria to a 1-0 lead after capitalising on Mohammad Al Mamour’s pass in the 53rd minute. The Syria forward easily put the ball past UAE goalkeeper Mohammed Al Shamsi.

The game ended 1-0 after Asimov Aziz of Uzbekistan blew the whistle, sealing a victory for Syria.

The Japan men’s soccer squad gained a narrow 1-0 victory against Nepal in Tuesday’s Group D preliminary round of the Asian Games.

Japan midfielder Mitoma Kaoru scored the match’s only goal at the 6th minute.

The Vietnam men’s soccer team secured three goals to crush Pakistan 3-0 in Group D qualifying match for the Asian Games.

The Vietnam team, under South Korean coach Seo Park Hang, put pressure on Pakistan from the kickoff at Wibawa Mukti Stadium in Bekasi.

At minute 21, Nguyen Quang Hai notched Vietnam’s first goal on a cross from Nguyen Chong Phong.

Vietnam scored its second goal in the 41st minute, when Nguyen Van Quyet sent the ball into the Pakistan goal past goalkeeper Saqib Hanif. Nguyen Cong Phuong bagged Vietnam’s third and final goal in the 72nd minute.

Meanwhile, Thailand’s men soccer team tied Qatar 1-1 in a Group B preliminary match at Cibinong Pakansari Stadium in Bogor.
