CHATTOGRAM: Abul Kahir Steel signed an agreement for supplying steel to the Metro Rail Project taken for addressing the traffic congestion in the capital.
The agreement was signed with the project’s contractor firm Italian-Thai Development (ITD)-Sinohydro JV recently.Abul Khair Steel Head of Corporate Marketing Md Wahidun Nabi Chowdhury and ‘ITD-Sinohydro JV’ Project Manager Thitinan Panpila signed the agreement on behalf of their respective organisations for the project of Dhaka Mass Transit Company Limited at the project’s main site office at Diabari in Uttara.
High officials of the companies were present during signing the agreement, said a press release.
After implementation of the 20.1-kilometre second largest infrastructural construction project involving around Tk 22,000 crore with the financial assistance from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) will play significant role in modernisation of communication system and lessening traffic congestion in the capital.
Under package-2, ‘ITD and Sinohydro JV’ will construct stabling yard, godown for train maintenance and overhauling goods, main workshop, operation control centre, train inspection, generator and electrical building, train washing establishment, manual train washing, multi-storied car parking and green space along the main project, read the press release.
