Archery talent hunt begins in Narail

Narail Phase of Teer Archery Talent Hunt Programme 2018 was inaugurated at Bir Shrestha Noor Mohammad Stadium in Narail on Sunday. The talent scouting event is part of ‘Teer go for gold’ project. Bangladesh Archery Federation (BAF) is organising the meet with the sponsorship of City Group.

 

The event was inaugurated by Narail Deputy Commissioner Emdadul Hoque Chowdhury. District Sports Association General Secretary Ashikur Rahman Miku was also present among others dignitaries.

 

100 young archers participated in the talent hunt yesterday. The 10-day programme will end on July 30. 20 boys and girls will be selected and trained during the campaign.

 

Meanwhile, Archery Talent Hunt Programme was also held at Alhaj Zafar Bepari High School in Savar on Sunday. 250 youngsters from different educational institutions of the region tried their skills with the bow during the talent hunt.

 

It can be mentioned that BAF has decided to conduct the talent hunt program across the country in order to bring out talented archers. Initially BAF has selected 12 districts to conduct their programme.

 

Teer, the premium brand and also the first brand of City Group, along with Bangladesh Archery Federation is preparing Bangladesh’s archers to put a signature of the nation in 2020 Tokyo Olympics.

 

As a part of preparation to achieve Olympic success, Teer signed up to collaborate with Bangladesh Archery Federation for next five years.
