Bangladesh blasts Britain in 1st round

Bangladesh Archery Team advanced to the second round of Archery World Cup Stage-4 2018 after defeating Great Britain in mixed team compound event in the Berlin on Thursday.

Roman Sana and Nasrin Aktar triumphed over Lucy Mason and James Mason of Great Britain in the compound mixed team event by 156-155 points. With this feat, the duo broke the national record for highest points in a compound mixed team event. Second round match of compound mixed team event will be held today.

In the recurve men’s single event, Ruman Sana was defeated by Kim Woojin of South Korea by 6-2 set points in their third round encounter while in the recurve men’s team event, Bangladesh were downed by Germany by 6-0 set points.

On the day, Asim Kumar Das was defeated by Valereo Della Stua of Italy in the compound men’s single event in a 141-140 point encounter while Md Abul Kashem Mamun tasted defeat with at the hands of Antyom Gankin by 133-130 points.

Ingrid Olofsson of Sweden got the better of Bonna Aktar in 128-121 points encounter.
