CUMILLA: A teenage worker of a footwear factory has allegedly been gang-raped by four youths at Devpur of Burichang upazila, reports UNB.
The victim filed a written compliant with Burichang Police Station on Monday in this regard. According to the allegation, local youth Hridoy used to harass her on her way to and back home from the footwear factory at Devpur.
On Sunday evening, the victim, aged around 17, was waiting for a vehicle in Cantonment area for returning home from her sister’s house.
However, Hridoy picked her in his motorbike promising her to leave her at her residence. But the youth took her to an abandoned house at Devpur and called three of his friends there who violated her one after another. They also threatened to kill her if she disclosed the incident.
Manoj Kumar Dey, officer-in-charge of Burichang Police Station, said they started drives to arrest the rapists.
