Global technology brand Xiaomi announced its official journey in Bangladesh on Tuesday.
The Chinese smartphone giant has been operating business with local distributor Solar Electro Bangladesh Limited since 2016.Xiaomi Global Vice President Manu Kumar Jain announced the country launch at a function at Four Points by Sheraton Dhaka.
SEBL Managing Director Majibor Rahman and Chief Executive Dewan Kanon were also present on the occasion.
Terming Bangladesh as ‘an emerging territory’, Manu Jain said, "Demographic dividend of around 160 million people makes the country attractive for flouring any brand. In Bangladesh, we are growing steady; however, there are huge opportunities for us.”
He also mentioned honest pricing method enables the firm to developed quality product in affordable price.
Regarding the market development, Manu further said, "Our users are our ambassador. We have millions of ‘mi fans’ who are sharing the product portfolio among their friends and families. We prefer social media rather than traditional media. At present we have no plan with television and newspaper.”
The company official also thinks that the official entry will strengthen its presence and extend more local support to the market.The company also announced the launch of Redmi S2 today in Bangladesh, marking the arrival of the new Redmi S series with exceptional selfie capabilities.
The Chinese company started its journey in 2010 and made revenue of $ 5 billion in last eight years which is considered as fastest technology firm in the world.
