Bangladeshi legend Aminul Islam’s all-rounder son Mahdee Islam has been named in the Australian Under-15 squad for the forthcoming Junior World Series of Indoor Cricket in New Zealand which is scheduled to take place this year.

Previously Mahdee led Australia’s state side Victoria’s Under-13 team and now he has been rewarded in under-15 side for his outstanding performances at the recently concluded Indoor Cricket National Championship in Queensland.

Mahdee’s father Bulbul is part of Bangladesh’s Test cricket history as he slammed a magnificent century in his and Bangladesh’s debut Test match in 2000 against India. He also played major role for champion Bangladesh team in ICC trophy 1997.

Since his retirement from national cricket of Bangladesh, Bulbul has been permanently living in Australia and working as ICC Development Officer. He also works for the development of ICC’s associate nations.

Four Australian squads (Under-13 boys, Under-15 boys, Under-17 boys and Under-17 girls) have been selected to compete in the 2018 Junior World Series of Indoor Cricket which will be held from September 26 to October 7. Mahdee Islam from Victoria will represent Under-15 boys team.
