Top all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan is looking forward to put their recent Test series heartache against Windies behind them by bouncing back in the upcoming ODI series which is scheduled to start from next Sunday.
Bangladesh saw humiliating series defeat against the visitors and were dropped to ninth place in ICC Test rankings.Bangladesh continued batting woes in second Test and failed to show any resistance against Caribbean pace attack as West Indies clinched Test series by 2-0 with two days in hand. Now Shakib is hoping to restore pride to Bangladesh cricket in ODI series.
“Undoubtedly it was a nightmare Test series. We knew it will be a tough series for us. We hoped to gain positive outcomes from the series but we totally failed and were battered. Now all eyes on ODI series and we are hoping to bounce back,” Shakib said.
The Tigers, who had climbed to the eighth position for the first time in the ICC Test rankings on May 1 last year, had to win or at least draw the series against the West Indies to maintain the rank after their loss to Sri Lanka earlier this year. But their series whitewash meant they slipped to the ninth place of the Test rankings.
