The BASIS National ICT Award programme began in the capital on Saturday to recognise innovations in information and communication technology sector.
Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services (BASIS), the apex body of software industries in the country, is hosting the event for the second time.Organisers briefed about the procedure of the programme at a press meet at BASIS head office in Dhaka on Saturday.
There will be about 105 awards in 35 categories to individual and organizational levels assessing performance in the sector, according to the organizers.
Winners of the awards will get direct access to participate in the core event of APICTA Award 2018 to be held in China this year.
BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir, Senior Vice President Farhana A Rahman, Shoeb Ahmed Masud, Mushfiqur Rahman and 2018 ICT Award convener Didarul Alam were, among others, present on the occasion.
BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir said the award will recognise innovative and prospective ICT projects of Bangladesh to enhance progress of Digital Bangladesh vision.
