Brazilian Ambassador in Dhaka, Joao Tabajara de Oliveira Junior along with a team of Brazilian journalists, intending to report on the World Cup frenzy in the country, paid a visit to Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) on Saturday and met with the BFF officials.
Recently, three journalists from TV Globo — the largest Brazilian TV Channel came to Bangladesh on June 15.As a part of their Bangladesh visit, Globo TV reporters Clayton Conservani, Igor Abreu and cameraman Mikael Bento along with the Brazilian Ambassador previously attended a press conference and disclosed that their aim is to broadcast the passionate support Brazilian National Football Team enjoys from Bangladeshis during FIFA World Cup.
An important moment of their trip was their visit to Brazil house in Narayanganj on June 22. Nearly a thousand people came to watch Brazil take on Costa Rica at Brazil house on that day.
The three-member Brazilian journalist and its ambassador in Dhaka also met with State Minister for Youth and Sports Dr Biren Sikder at his office at Secretariat on Thursday.
Yesterday, Brazilian Ambassador in Dhaka along with the three journalists met with BFF officials and revealed that Globo TV will make a documentary film based on Bangladesh’s conspicuous hype for World Cup football and Bangladeshi Brazil supporters.
Brazilian Ambassador in Dhaka Joao Tabajara de Oliveira Junior also assured that his country will provide all sorts of support for the development of football in Bangladesh, especially in the grassroots level.
BFF General Secretary Md Abu Nayeem Shohag, Technical Director B A Zubair Nipu, Members Fazlur Rahman Babul, Sheikh Mohammed Aslam, former footballer Raqibul Islam were also present on the occasion.Meanwhile BFF General Secretary handed over a crest to Brazilian Ambassador on behalf of BFF. After having a chat with BFF officials, the Brazilian guests met with ex-footballers of Sonali Atit Club.
